Within the framework of promoting national awareness and consolidating the meaning of belonging to the land GMTC commemorated Palestinian Land Day in 30 March each year through an afforestation campaign within GMTC`s headquarters to reflect the deep connection between the Palestinian human being and his land and to solidify the national values that constitute the essence of the Palestinian cause.
During the event staff Lieutenant Colonel/ Faisal Erekat deliver a speech in which he emphasized that land Day is not just a passing occasion, but a detailed stop in the history of the Palestinian struggle, stressing that today's tree planting carries profound symbolic connotations, as it represents rooting, steadfast and resilient against all attempts at uprooting and displacement.
Through those initiatives GMTC sought to promote employees awareness and to establish a culture of preserving land and the environment as an integral part of Palestinian national identity.
This event comes in the context of GMTC ongoing efforts to promote patriotism and belonging, emphasizing that the land is not just a geographical area, but a memory, identity and right.
