A delegation from GMTC visited the Jericho Municipal Library, within the framework of strengthening and activating the partnership between the two sides, and was briefed on the work mechanisms followed in the field of electronic classification and documentation of books.
The visit came with the aim of renewing cooperation between the library in GMTC "Martyr Yasser Arafat Library," and the Jericho Municipal Library, and establishing a partnership that allows the exchange of experiences and enables each party to access the content of the other party’s library, in a way that achieves a common knowledge and cultural benefit.
The delegation was briefed on the classification program followed in the municipal library, and the mechanisms for archiving and digital documentation. It was also agreed in principle to create a joint database that would allow researchers, officers, and those interested to access books and references electronically from both parties.
At the conclusion of the visit, it was arranged to organize an upcoming visit by the Jericho Municipal Library staff to the Martyr Yasser Arafat Library at CTI , with the aim of learning about the experience and expanding areas of future cooperation.
