staff major general /Mahmoud Haroun took over as the head of General Military Training Commission for Palestinian security services(GMTC) since December 2021; in addition to that he will hold office as the head of the higher training committee, and as officer program of fourth administrative training program and as a representative replacing major general/ Yousef ALhelou.
Staff major general served as a security officer since 1994. he joined the Palestinian security institution, After holding the military science bachelor degree in Algeria,. In 2012 He hold the master degree in strategic studies – national Defense College-in Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and he served at Military Intelligence since 1994.
He took over numerous leadership positions , including director of planning and training , director of military security , and the security of the military intelligence service , in addition to the director of studies and researches . since 2019 until becoming the head of GMTC, he served as the director of foreign military attaché. staff major general took over several training positions besides being the training director in military Intelligence, and he was an active member of higher training committee for security forces, instructor and lecturer in several military and security topics during his service.

The staff major general participated in several local and international courses , workshops, and conferences , including strategic leadership course , crises management course , battalion leadership course , designing and developing training curriculum workshop , train the trainer course , project management course , workshop on international standards , and the best judicial practice , besides numerous training program. Including developing atypical leadership program , developing behavioral skills , he participates in numerous courses and workshops which held by USSC office and British support team , like 2nd senior officer course in 2009.
About internal participation , he participates in numerous workshops related to security reform , human resources , and recruitments , and a workshop on security for senior directors in the security institution , in addition to workshop about identifying security challenges that face state of Palestine
Staff major general /Mahmoud Haroun received many medals and appreciation certificates, includes medals for military ranks appreciation certificates from Ministry of Interior, AL-Istiqlal University, and USSC office.
During his service on the first leadership position all his focus is on developing and investment in human resources as an entry to build modern security institution that provides safety and security for Palestinian citizen and homeland, and achieving strategic goals for security sector.
