GMTC and the Environmental Quality Authority discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation during a visit by the head of GMTC, Major General Mahmoud Haroun, his deputy, Brigadier General Bassam Al-Jarbi, and several officers to the Environmental Quality Authority headquarters in Al-Bireh. They were received by the Authority's Chairman, Engineer Zaghloul Samhan.
Major General Haroun emphasized the importance of partnerships with national institutions, stressing that environmental protection is a fundamental part of the national security system. He also noted the GMTC’s readiness to support environmental programs and develop the capabilities of security personnel in the field of environmental security.
For his part, Samhan emphasized the importance of integrating national efforts to protect natural resources, noting the Authority's focus on strengthening environmental training and awareness programs.
The meeting addressed developing the concept of environmental security and discussed implementing joint training programs and enhancing the application of environmental legislation and oversight, based on the memorandum of understanding between the two parties.
